After a sold-out workshop run this April, Catie and David Sauvage have partnered with Theaterlab to bring back EMPATH, David’s one-man show about emotional superpowers. The show follows its creator's winding path from self-proclaimed "typical Jewish cynic" through the discovery of his gift for experiencing the emotions of others, to genre-defying performance-artist-intuitive. The show will be presented at Theaterlab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd floor), opening on Thursday, November 29 and running Thursdays thru Sundays until December 9. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased via Ovationtix or by calling 866-811-4111.

Catie is helping good friend and brilliant actress Tara Halpern develop her solo cabaret which was first performed at The Duplex on September 10. This hilarious piece takes us on an early 2000s teen-pop journey through Tara's first twelve crushes, and considers the impact of pop media on young women’s self-worth and identity. Laugh with and at Tara through this evening of songs and stories—from her first kiss and punch in the face at age 3 to her heartbreak at age 18. (*Disclaimer: In the interest of privacy, the names of all boys mentioned in the show have been changed to those of the 12 Apostles ...except for Andrew and John...blame your parents.) For more about Tara, visit her website, and check back here for updates about future performances.

This new musical tells the story of a remote coastal town where a whale washes ashore and brings a burst of attention back to the struggling community. Unsolved murders, tender relationships, and a media frenzy lead to an explosive reveal that makes us wonder what we would do to keep from being forgotten. The creative team completed a successful Act One 29-Hour Equity reading of the show in December 2017, followed by a workshop with The Dare Tactic in March 2018 that explored orchestrations for the piece. After taking the spring to finish a full draft of the show, a private reading was held at NYU in June 2018.
